Avoid Holiday Nightmares

Going on a vacation can be a de-stressing experience. Most look forward to it in anticipation as this is usually the most awaited occasion of the year. But things beyond your control can somtimes ruin your vacation.

Never think: "It won't happen to me". The most unpleasant surprises can pop up and spoil what you expect to be a blissfuil holiday should you be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Getting caught in a military coup or a blistering typhoon may seem highly improbable. But why should you leave it to chance especially if you plan to travel alone or stay in a country for more than a month. Unlikely that it might seem, sometimes civil unrest or natural disaster can occur without much warning.

Here are 2 important advice that you might want to consider taking:

  • When traveling, always find out more about the conditions in the country you are visiting.
  • Register with your country's embassy or consulate. By recording information about your trip, you will enable officers from your emabssy or consulate to contact and assist you should an emergency occur. It is advisable to leave your itinerary with them. This will enable consular officers to locate you when you might need them the most.
